Philadelphia DJs lil'dave (Illvibe Collective) and Personify (Little Big Things) have joined forces to bring you Gotcha Covered - a genre bending mega-mix of covers songs from the mid-60s to the present. With more than 35 years of DJing and music collecting between them, these fellas dug deep in their collections to pull tracks for Gotcha Covered and spent months mixing, cutting and blending together more than 90 covers spanning Funk, Soul, Jazz, Afrobeat, Latin, Bossa Nova, Boogaloo, Reggae, Steel-Drum Band, Brass Band, R&B and Hip-Hop, to name a few. From the super rare to the under-appreciated and forgotten to the more common cover versions, Gotcha Covered offers up something for the serious digger and the casual listener alike. Tom Noble on BIS Radio

Really nice guest mix from "Disco" Tom Noble on Beats in Space a few weeks ago.  Lots of rarities, including Larry McGee's tribute to my hometown of Pittsburgh, The Burg.  That Larry McGee (Pictured above) song is kinda goofy because it was made in the late 1970s and it basically just talks about how awesome and fun Pittsburgh is, which was NOT the case back then - when Pittsburgh was a crumbling city in the middle of an economic seizure of epic proportions.

Unearthed a remix I once did for popular 1980s Italian HI-NRG singer Drake (nee Aubrizzio Driaggio Grahamino), best known for coining the Italian phrase "si vive una volta sola" (YOLO) and for his role as "Jimmy di Sedia a Rotelle" in the RAI-Italia afternoon special Scuola DeGrazzio. Ripped from a 1985 German 12" Maxi Single version.

Here's a fresh rip of the Italo mega classic, Take A Chance to get your weekend started right! I know vocal version has made the blog rounds over the years, but the rips are always questionable & often from bootleg pressings. Rest assured, these are from an OG (which sounds way better than the Cosmic Explorer bootleg). Plus I don't think the instrumental is so easy to find online, so say thanks and play LOUD!

I recently found out Roy Dank, who was behind The Wurst Music Co., launched a new label: Free Association. I was pleased to see his debut release is by Name In Lights, who had a standout track on The Wurst Music Ever comp. Their new joint for FA, Naughty, is their best work yet - righteous party starter synths with hints of funky percussion and a creeping vocal hook.
