We Could Stay Together

The story according to Duckcomb:

This is a faithful recreation of a vintage re-edit originally on the Hot Tracks label and is very rare! My DJ partner Steve Shakewell put in a request that I re-do this edit and I assumed it would be a breeze but it was really tough! I can't imagine how this was done on tape in the early 80's! Anyways, it's a great tune and a great edit and now you can spin it!

Bonnevie / Every Night

Duckcomb aka Patrick Billiard is one half of Brooklyn's Sharegroove. A longtime Brooklyn DJ and digger, Duckcomb drops two edits from the far corners of the disco stratosphere. 'Bonnevie' is a hands-in-the-air dancefloor groover with sexy female vocals, funky bongos, synth melodies, and a heartbreaking keyboard solo. 'Every Night' hits us right where it hurts with soft rock for hard times written all over it. Male lead and female backup vocals, night drive guitar solos, and a drummer with a heart of gold, 'Every Night' is just begging to be sampled, like Kurt Hauenstein or Jim Capaldi hid a secret mega tune in some private press tax scam record, knowing Patrick would eventually come along and take care of the rest.

Always There

Sharegroove's Duckcomb re-arranged Willie Bobo's cover of Ronnie Laws "Always There" for maximum dancefloor action. And be sure to scroll down a few posts to hear Michael The Lion's club friendly version of the same song.

Falling Out Of Love

Sharegroove's DJ Duckcomb touched up a cosmic obscurity, removing some cheese. According to Duckcomb, "Parts of the song sound edited but aren't! Dig the cosmic synths and heavy guitars on here... enjoy!"

Give Me Your Love

A mixable edit of Sylvia Striplin's mega classic, Give Me Your Love (produced by Roy Ayers!!!). DJs must have really loved this record in the 80s. Every time I dig through an old DJ's collection of 12"s, there is always a copy and it's always totally whipped. Same with Strafe's Set It Off - two stone cold party anthems that are always played to death.
