Here's a very slight edit of Unlimited Touch off of the classic bootleg imprint Ballroom Records. Ballroom was responsible for both reissuing tracks & pressing up some useful edits. If any Jammers have further information on the label, please leave a comment.

Hey folks-
Ballroom was run by a French fellow of Italian background. I don't want to say his name since he was pretty secretive about doing this for obvisou reasons, but if you were on the record scene in NYC in the '90s/early 2000s you know who I'm talking about. He doesn't live in NYC anymore and isn't involved with pressing records now, to my knowledge. I helped him and his partner with press releases/onesheets and such, later did some re-edit work. Ballroom are almost all straight represses of medium-rare dance classics (this is the promo-only Francois K mix of "Searching"). We also did the Jazz-Funk label, Disco Strut, Disc-O-Lypso and a bunch of one-off reproductions. Some of these repros were so good that they have gotten into discogs and popsike as 'rare originals' or such. I get a kick out of that... Ballroom ended when the guy in charge left NYC, in 2002 I think.

Forever More

It's nearly impossible to pick a favorite Francois K. mix, but I have to say that his rework of Moloko's "Forever More" is easily towards the top of my own list. The source material helps; Roisin Murphy's untouchable vocals are placed front and center in a lush and breezy backdrop by Mr. K and some additional keyboard flares from another studio veteran; Eric Kupper. In a word, this is flawless pop music for the dancefloor.

I've posted the 7 minute version of the track, but the 12"es that host this tune (there are a few) have a 10 minute version that extends the intro and some of the breaks halfway through. Vinyl hounds be forewarned: it took me months to track this record down. I can't say why for sure, but I finally nabbed it from a dealer on Gemm.com. Right place, right time I guess.
