Movin' To Brass Construction

That L.T.G. Exchange record I shared a couple of days ago opened up the funk floodgates here at Chez Billy. Let's jump back into it with Brooklyn's Brass Construction. "Movin'" is probably the band's most celebrated single and the lead-off track of their nearly flawless self-titled debut full length. The horns and rhythm section do their thing, of course, but when the synth lead comes in and compliments the obsessively whispered "Don't stop... c'mon" the dance floor will be ready to jump out of its skin. It clocks in at nearly 9 minutes and every last second is perfection. Believe the hype.

Simply A Classic

Not much needs to be said about L.T.G. Exchange's "Waterbed". The kind of tune dancers love because it's funky, repetitious and doesn't require any thought whatsoever and the kind of tune DJ's love because it is an obscurity to non-disco/funk heads under the age of 30 that will fill the floor every single time.

Presented here is the infinitely mixable Underdog edit. If you are a superfan, NYC disco dudes Rub N Tug did a fine edit of this track as well.
