Frank Ocean - Pyramids (DJ Apt One Disco Dub)
My take on my favorite tune on Frank Ocean’s newest record. If you have heard me play at any pool parties or laid-back outdoor venues this summer, you have certainly heard this remix. Now you can have a copy for personal use. Use this song to orchestrate your own outer space pulp-sex drama, at home or on the go.

Wish It Could Rain
I can't find any background info on this 45, but the dub side is great.

Trying To Hold On
Here's the other Junior Byron jam I promised. This isn't as widely known as Dance To The Music, but it's just as fierce. Give this a listen and tell me Junior shouldn't leave his woman.

Remember (Lost & Found Dub)
One of my favorites from Serge Santiago's Italo sampling house edit series, released with different color labels & covers each time. This is from the Midnight Blue 12", which flipped Gino Soccio tunes on each side.

Owner Man Skank
I've been listening back through some neglected records, looking to sell them to someone who will appreciate them more than I have been. In doing so, I've also rediscovered a number of jams I still love and really enjoy. This Tapper Zukie produced 45 only dub is one of them.

RIP Matthew Africa
We here at Dollar Bin Jams are extremely saddened to hear of the passing of Bay Area DJ, digger and homie Matthew Africa, whose work we have admired and hopefully you have too if you follow this blog.
As told by his sister:
My brother, Matthew Africa, was killed in a car accident on Monday afternoon. He and his beloved wife, Ha Le, were returning from a trip to Yosemite when their car collided with a big rig on a highway near Modesto. They tell us he died instantly; miraculously, she survived with multiple fractures. His absence is unbearable. Please keep our families in your thoughts and prayers.
Go over to Matthew Africa's blog to listen to some of his music, mixes and thoughts and leave some condolences if need be.
If we hear of any memorial services or donations set up in his honor, we will report them here.
The world is a less funky place in his absence.

Hochzeitsnacht
Christian, who runs one of my favorite blogs, made a DJ friendly and slightly hypnotic edit of some German funk.
DBJ Soundcloud Group Round Up
As some of you know - we have a Dollar Bin Jams group on Soundcloud. It's a place for like-minded folks to share music, and its moderated, so hopefully it's kind of "crap-free." Here are some of my favorite recent contributions to the group.
Data - In Blue
What's happenin DBJ family. DJ Apt One here, pinch-hitting for Shawn.
A pretty choice synth-pop cut from an LP worth buying just for its cover. Turns out to be pretty deece too - some Cocteau type inflections and weirdness. There's a 12 inch mix of this out there somewhere as well.
