What remix is this? It's my favorite thats fo-sure! I'm not sure why I don't hear "Feelin' On Yo Booty (Hypnosis Mix)" more often considering it's 127 bpm and shit. This track reminds me of the parties I would have at my crib after I would dj my high school dances. It was a cool way to get cute ladies to pay attention to you, well there is one in particular that comes to mind when I hear this joint. Anyway enjoy this funny throwback from 2001 bbbbbbbbooooty!

Slick Tour Wrap Up

The 3rd Rail Jam tour has come to a close and we ended it with a bang in Hollywood at the Kress night club. I had a blast in every city we rocked, it was such a amazing experience I can't wait till next year! On the tour I started to build a relationship with Slick Rick and his DJ Kaos and during a car ride from the Salt Lake airport to the hotel we started talking about what music we were feeling, so I mentioned the SP the Ghost mixtapes. I told Slick that I though he should do a couple verses to some new or classic tracks. The next week DJ Kaos hit me up and said he was sending over some freestyles Slick had made. Young Robots Digital Launches Today with Two RCMP EPs

Today, Young Robots Records is now animated and in effect - the product of almost a year of hard work. You can now purchase the RCMP self-titled EP and Mustache Love EP at any major digital music retailer.

The self-titled EP is your first chance to buy a digital version of the popular but limited edition vinyl we put out last summer in collaboration with Flamin Hotz Records. One of last year's most buzzed-about disco records, it features remixes from Cousin Cole and DJ Pumpkin Patch. There are a few copies of the vinyl available at Turntable Lab if that's your preferred sonic medium.

DJ and fan response to Mustache Love inspired us to create a remix EP and we tapped Chicago's house wunderkind Rob Threezy (Nightshifters, T&A) for a techy thumper. Young Robots and Philadelphyinz's own Skinny Friedman adds a more percussive, funky vibe with his mix, and Young Robots' rising star DJ Pumpkin Patch extends his EP version to an even more intense, synthed out anthem.

We're really excited that the label is off the ground and running, and we're game planning releases from Skinny Friedman, Relative Q (of RCMP), DJ Apt One, Brooklyn disco wizard DJ Pumpkin Patch, Detroit's number one party mover Frankie Bank$, Dash Speaks and more - not to mention some RCMP releases with remixers that may surprise you.

Long story short - today is the day you can stop just listening to us talk shit and start listening to these records. You can check them out at any major internet music outlet.

Personally, we're fans Beatport and Turntable Lab because of they offer wav files and a record-store-like shopping experience, but iTunes, Amazon, Juno and all the others are just fine with us.

New Gorillaz Edit

Tokyo based Corporate (of Blam City Records) just hooked me up with this new DJ friendly Gorillaz edit. In his own words...

Album is cool, but I'm taken with one track in particular that starts super mellow but eventually breaks into this spacey dance groove at the end. End part is only about 2 minutes long though, so I took the liberty to put together this quick edit that extends it to around 6 min.

Definitely a handy cut for chill sets.

New Chris Burns Edits

Well, new to us anyway. He made these a couple years ago and just discovered them on an old hard drive. First up is a more focused edit of Henrik Schwarz's Mari Boine remix. This one's on the late late night tip. Then there's the Vince Montana Jr. edit, which was his first and still a favorite. I gotta admit, DBJ's got a soft spot for Philly jams. This shit is funky. You know it's on when the vocals finally kick in.

Also, be on the lookout for his upcoming release on Deep Sugar Music. It's a remix of Jada that would make Todd Edwards proud.
